The website is an excellent way to generate income, expose you and your materials to the international training community and as a way of generating traffic for your website.
We anticipate having a wide variety of exercises, magic tricks, handouts, games, presentations, and other information available to interested users. We anticipate that the price points will be viewed quite reasonable and that the materials operate much like shareware.
Each download will generate income to you -- Authors get 50% of the revenues. A 10% commission is also given to the affiliate who directed traffic to the site.
Some the features of this arrangement include:
We work with Commission Junction, a third-party independent firm that handles the tracking of sales, commissions and the like. They manage the affiliate program for us independently; it is their business.
You sell your materials with no transaction costs and receive a 50% royalty on every sale.
You get commissions from the sales of others products if you are part of the affiliate program and have a link from your website to ours. (Please note that this is NOT a requirement for participation.)
You generate traffic to your website (if you desire and place the links from your eTrainingMaterials webpages to your website.)
You get worldwide publicity, too, through our press releases!
You and your materials get worldwide exposure at no cost and we list your materials with over 30 search engines.
You retain all copyrights and rights to your materials. You can publish them on other sites, format them as you desire. You do not give up any ownership or rights of use. We also anticipate that publishers will find the site an interesting place to discoder new authors and materials.
We're in this venture with you -- we only make money if you make money. We only generate a strong positive image if we have lots of good content from authors like yourself.
There are also a few drawbacks to making your materials available in this fashion.
Your materials are published and internationally distributed so there may be potential issues of copyright violation by end users.
You do not know who has your materials since we will track purchasers only for payment information.
Your materials can be adapted by others for their own purposes and without your knowledge.
Overall, however, this situation is little different from publishing your training materials and ideas in a printed book, only the royalties are higher, the distribution is broader and faster, and you can more readily update and improve on the materials over time.
Additional background information:
What is eBookstand? eBookstand is our parent site, an Internet based, online, pay per service book store and publishing house. We are using eBookstand technology and support to get this rolling. Most importantly, we are a tool for you to use to gain access and get exposure to prospects and clients.
We set up a home page for you and your material and index your contribution in a couple of ways, including a keyword list and an on-site search engine. We list the materials in our on-line catalog index.
On your home page, we show your email and website addresses. With your email address posted, other interested parties can contact you directly. They can also bridge to your website if they find your materials of interest.
Since many of us are already giving training materials away for free on our websites, we will require only that the materials published on eTrainingMaterials are not duplicated for free on your home page. That would make little sense. You might have a "primitive" version of that exercise for free but publish an embellished version of it with us.
Publishing the materials is straightforward. You will submit them to Scott Simmerman in downloadable form and he will review your materials prior to putting them on line. You will suggest appropriate keywords, set paramaters for suggested delivery and provide the document in your preferred format (.pdf, .rtf, .ppt or whatever).
We would suggest that you publish materials in the three above formats.
.pdf is Adobe Acrobat, which has a powerful conversion engine and converts from any format into a visible cross-platform format that is viewable by a variety of operating systems. Acrobat also maintains your format and look. You can embed hot-links, also.
.rtf (Rich Test Format) was designed to be read by all word processing programs on pc's, Macintosh and UNIX computers. Converting to .rtf is as simple as saving the document in final form with a "save as" function and selecting rtf. It retains look and formatting but can also be modified by the purchaser.
.ppt is PowerPoint, a software program by Microsoft that is used worldwide on pc's and Macintosh computers. This format is for presentations, but it can also be a training package for supporting a set of materials (and separately priced) or a full-blown training package with supporting handouts.
You design the materials. Scott will advise as to suggested copyright, format, and other ideas if needed. Once the materials are in appropriate form and ready to go, we will load them up and build the catalog.
You will be given the easy to follow directions and links to market your materials home page and we will also be listing your materials with the over 30 major search engines for free. By doing this individual submitting to the search engines, your exposure will be increased.
Press Releases and publicity are also used on a regular basis to get the print media (trade publications and newspapers) to pay attention and see where we are going and who is going with us. This approach has worked exceptionally well thus far, with wonderful articles about us in USAToday, CNN and other international media.
As an Ebookstand author you are part of a family and have a tool to use to gain exposure. Use this tool!
What does all this cost? Very little! If your work is digitally formatted and acceptable for publication, the fee is only $25 for web page creation and insertion into the eTrainingMaterials data base. There are no additional charges. (This fee is subject to change.)
How do you get started ? Fill in the registration form and submit your material to us in any PC format word processing program such as MS Word or Word Perfect. Better yet, consider using Adobe Acrobat (.pdf) files which are probably optimal for materials since they retain your information and formatting regardless of which platform the user prefers.
If you are selling a PowerPoint presentation, please upload that as a .ppt document.
Please have your work, regardless of the number of pages as ONE file. Submissions in multiple documents will not work with the structure of the site and the downloading unless they will be offered separately for sale.
You may, of course, submit many different documents, exercises or other materials. We will encourage you to have a strong website presence.
